Just chillin' on a Sunday night

Yes, I am still going through my retro stage, having so much fun finding images to use on my cards. I downloaded the background black and white design and the chaise lounge, the cushions on the lounge are actually a lightish pink but after taking the photo about ten times and trying to adjust the  coloring I just gave up, I am sure many of you can relate to this. I printed the black and white background design directly onto the white cardstock and added a red rectangle to the base which is meant to be the carpet. I cut out the chaise lounge and adhered to card stock using self-adhesive dimensional foam.I designed the lamp on open office, the lamp stand was done by combining a very thin rectangle and oval as the base. For the lamp shade I printed the paisley shape from my 70's dingbat font in the lamp shade shape that I found on open office as well, cut out the shape and adhered to card stock using self-adhesive dimensional foam.

This card came about after watching one of my favourite movies being The Big Chill the other night, I can watch this movie over and over again, I just love the sound track and the story always means something to me no matter how many times I watch it.

I am so happy that I have tomorrow off, nothing like a three day weekend. Our Pop-up market stall went really well yesterday, it was a sunny and warm day so everyone was out and many people visited our stall and  I am happy to say purchased a few of my cards, its always great when perfect strangers buy my work as I know that they actually like my cards and not just buying them because they feel they have to. I met a lady at the stall yesterday who I felt I had known for years we just talked and talked for about an hour, so nice to meet like minded people. The next  exhibition also had its opening yesterday at Quirk-a-bility and this time its a puppet show, all the entries are just incredible, plan to share some photo's at a later stage on my blog, we all went out for dinner after a long and successful day yesterday to celebrate how everything went. Today I went to see J Edgar with my mum, the movie is just incredible and I would highly recommend it, Leonard DiCaprio is my new favourite actor. I hope everyone is not bored with my ramblings about what I did on the weekend, I have made mention of all this for selfish reasons, when I am down and read about the good times I always feel better and realize that life is a mix of good and bad and we should be thankful for everything that happens.

The challenges I have included-
CAS-ual Fridays-On the red carpet
For Your Inspiration-Challenge #23, I was inspired by the curves in the building which are reflected in the design of the wallpaper and the curve on the chaise lounge.

hope everyone has a great week and thanks so much for visiting :)

I got the love lotus award for this card over at For your inspiration
