One thing about my family we are always talking about the good old days, I always enjoyed hearing my dad's stories of when he was young and all the things he used to get up to, I can't believe what a good memory he had. My mum is also the same, she can remember the exact year in which a song was popular, I have a good memory but not that good. I guess the good old days are back in, there are vintage shops popping up everywhere in Sydney and people dressing in vintage clothing. I just love walking through vintage shops and checking out the different quirky items and if I had my way my house would be completely retro but my husband might just object, luckily we live in a house that was built in the 60's and not much has been done to alter it in anyway.
This card of mine has been heavily influenced by yesteryear, I have been wanting to make it for a long time but just didn't know how to go about it as I couldn't find the different elements to create my retro scene. This morning I went through google looking for free images and was able to find the image that I have used as the wallpaper, the sweet and happy couple image and the orange retro TV, I think they all go together perfectly. I printed the wallpaper image, green carpet and sentiment directly onto the card stock. I cut out the TV and cut out the screen in the middle onto which I stuck acetate at the back. The first thing that I stuck down was the picture of the couple and positioned the TV on top of the couple picture using dimensional self adhesive foam squares, I added two small gems to the ends of the antenna. I am really happy with how this card turned out and plan to do many more retro cards with other funky images.
