Inspiration is all around us

Today I was walking back home from the station after work and happened to look down and saw some tree twigs, I thought to myself it would be great if I could use twigs on my cards as tree branches. I picked up a whole bunch of twigs, came home and made this card.

The first thing I did on this card was print the sentiment in 32 point "Before the rain" font directly onto the card stock. I then tore the bottom edges of the square background papers, overlapped the squares and stuck to card stock. I  stuck the tree twig to the card stock, it took time to stick but it finally got there. I cut out the leaves and hand stitched green embroidery thread to the leaves. Cut out the bird from patterned paper and lastly half stuck the leaves and bird to the card stock so that the leaves and bird look like they are popping out from the card.

Hope everyone is having a good week, I am so happy that this week is going fast and we are finally having some good weather in Sydney.

The challenges I have included-
Patterned paper-Lily pad
Anything goes in the linking party-Make it Monday
Paper piecing-CAS-ual Fridays
