I just love Japanese quilts

I am definitely not a quilt maker but just love Japanese quilts, all the beautiful fabrics and designs really appeal to me. There is a handmade quilt shop that I visit in a suburb called Mittagong and every time I go there I see the most amazing handmade Japanese quilts, the lady who makes them describes the process as being really simple but I highly doubt that they are that easy to make.

This card was influenced by those beautiful  quilts, I printed the Ginger World digital geisha images on same sized coloured  hexagons, did this all on open office, the repetition of hexagons is meant to resemble a common design found on quilts. I printed the sentiment onto the card stock using 'before the rain" font and then added the cut out hexagons to the card using self-adhesive dimensional foam, I was initially going to add more to the card but decided to leave as is.

The challenges I have included-
quilt-inspired cards-CARDS
Anything goes-Joyful Stamper
Add a sentiment-The paper shelter
Anything goes-Penny's paper crafty challenge blog
Use a digital stamp-The sisterhood of crafters
Anything goes-Always crafting

I am having fun making a card most Sunday nights, I always tell myself I am going to watch TV or just plain relax but whilst I am motivated would rather be making cards. Hope everyone has a great week and thanks again for visiting.

Not only are the little geisha images cute, but that is a really cute sentiment. Will have to remember it. =) Love how this is so clean and simple but the shapes and colors add so much interest. Thanks for joining us for the Make It Cute Challenge at PaperCrafting Journey! ~Christy
