Bright and Cheerful and a fantastic weekend

It's been a quick but great weekend. Yesterday I worked in the morning but after that had an unexpectedly nice afternoon and evening. My friend Angelo at work lives very close to one of my favourite scrapbooking shops so I hitched a ride there after we finished work, shockingly enough he is one male friend who actually enjoyed being in the shop and was asking questions about the many things for sale, when does that ever happen. After being at the shop he dropped me off at Bardwell Park train station, I had never been to this suburb before and discovered a lovely little cafe that I ended up spending along time in. The cafe has recently been opened by a young and very enthusiastic young lady. At the age of 22 she has opened a shop of her own which I find amazing, she has built it up from scratch. Its weird how well we got on and in the end I ended up washing the dishes as the person who normally helps her do this didn't turn up, she in turn didn't let me pay for the many things I ate and drank during the day. She has also been kind enough to let me sell my cards and other handmade goods at her cafe, yesterday afternoon was definitely not what I was expecting, its funny the the good things life throws our way sometimes. Oh, and I also watched Karate Kid at the movies in the evening and thoroughly enjoyed it, a real feel good movie that definitely raised my spirits.

This is a card I did today for the YUM challenge over at City Crafter Challenge Blog. I wanted the card to be bright and cheerful. I purchased the yellow cloud background paper yesterday and I think it goes really well with the theme of this card. I was initially going to use self colours for the ice cream cones but in the end decided to use patterned papers to add more colour, the ice-cream cones were made following a simple template. Mounted the cones on  self-adhesive mounting squares to give the card dimension.

The other challenges I have included-
Summer Fun-One stop craft challenge

I was chosen as one of the SPOTLIGHT ARTIST'S at city crafter blog for this card.

 My current giveaway
I am having a giveaway till the 30th of September, would love it if you could join in,  the details are here
