I like things the old fashioned way

I am sure that all of you can relate to the fact that there is nothing like getting a card or letter  in the mail. I know around my Birthday I always get excited to see the postman come around as it means that I will be receiving cards from my relatives and friends near and far.

This card pays tribute to the simple act of getting mail the old fashioned way. I fell in love with this card over at My paper secret, I don't have any of the stamps that were used in Cristina's card so my husband and I set out to make a custom made digital image of a postal van. We used both photoshop and inkscape to create the little van. The collage of the postage stamps in the van are free digital stamps and at the moment I have no idea where we got them from, I will try and find the details and update later on. The van did take a long time to design but I have to admit I am very happy with the final result. The background was printed including the envelope edging, the hello digital stamp and the sentiment.I printed the postal van separately and paper-pieced it to the card.
