Saved these pencils just in time

As I have mentioned in previous posts I am challenging myself to use everyday objects in my cards. The other day my friend/office all round extraordinaire/administrator was doing some spring cleaning and she came across about 50 or so pencils that she was going to throw away, luckily she checked with me if I wanted them which of course I did as I knew I would find a way to use them on my cards. The sentiment on this card was inspired by one of my favourite songs growing up, The right stuff by New Kids on the Block, I have to admit I still listen to that song quite often.

For this card the background was created on photoshop using a repeated image of a pencil, the pencil is actually gray although it doesn't exactly look gray in this photo. I was originally going to have the pencil background in different colours but decided to keep it gray so that the red pencils and sentiment would stand out on the background. I cut the pencils to a smaller size and stuck them to the card with self adhesive dimensional foam.

                                         RECYCLED ELEMENT
The recycled element used in this card is the pencils I saved from being thrown out at work.
