If you don't have it, make it

I absolutely love retro vases but have never found a pre-made digital image that I like so today Randolph and I decided to design a retro vase from scratch. It did take a while but I have to admit I am totally stoked as to the final result of how it turned out.  Another thing I am very happy about is Pakistan won the cricket today against Australia, I hope everyone in Pakistan are celebrating :)

I am a big fan of the colour combos at colourQ and especially loved the colours this week and so happy that I got to play along  with these two cards. For the first card I created a colour block background on open office and added the flower in vase image on top of the colour blocking design. I paper pieced the flower and the vase and added dimensional magic to the stripes on the vase to make the colours stand out.

I debated whether to use this colour combo for the sympathy card but in the end decided it was fine as I want this card to convey a message of hope to the good friend I am giving it to. The vase image has been designed by Randolph and myself and the flower is from Ginger World, Etsy.

I love the colour blocking. This is the first time I've seen it used outside of clothes! I'm definitely going to try this out! The retro vase is also perfect.
Good for Pakistan! I'm very happy when Australia loses a match...I shouldn't but can't help it :p Lets hope India wins vs West Indies today:)
