I am one of those people who cries hysterically at airport's, when I was younger and went back to Karachi, Pakistan, the city where I was born I was inconsolable when I had to leave. I had already gone through most of the security checks and because I was so upset the Airport staff actually allowed me to go back and say bye to friends and family once more, I don't know if that was a good idea as I was even more upset when I had to leave them again. I am not that bad any more but I still find it really hard to say bye. I didn't know that people actually gave cards out when they moved until I got one from a friend sometime ago, it wasn't a handmade card but I thought it was a great idea to send out a card to let me know she was moving.
The windy road on this card was created on inkscape, at first the design was going to be a straight road but in the end it was decided a road fading out would give the idea of going faraway. The car image is a digital stamp from Two peas in a bucket that I have paper pieced and added dimensional magic to the windows to give the look of glass. The sentiment was done in Onyx font, the first half is a smaller font size than the second half and there is more space between the letters in the first half than the second half. Visually this is to show in the first half the distance between the people and in the second half the closeness.

Hi Susan. This is a wonderful and creative design. I love your windy road and your paper pieced card with luggage on top. Amazing attention to details. Thanks for joining us at ATCAS.
I love your gorgeous card and the sentiment is so lovely! Don't feel bad - I always cry at airports too...saying goodbyes is so hard! Hugs xx
I haven't been around for a week as I had to say a final goodbye to my big brother whose funeral was on Wednesday. Your card is perfect. I said goodbye to my son and DIL yesterday as they set off on their journey home and yes, they are only a phone call away - they rang today - but I still cried when they left. Of to check on your other cards now. Hazel x
Wonderful card - love the road and the sweet little car! TFS and Happy Easter.
